316/316L Stainless Steel
UNS S31600/S31603
Type 316/316L displays better corrosion resistance and pitting resistance than conventional 18-8 alloys. These improved corrosion properties of Type 316/316L are due to the increased nickel content and the addition of molybdenum. Type 316/316L is used extensively in pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical industries.
It is the policy of CMC Letco Ind to stock and use only dual rated type 316/316L Stainless Steels. This provides our customers with the advantage of the higher corrosion resistance of type 316L plus the higher mechanical properties of type 316.
